A horse had to be put down after a welfare officer called it ‘one of the most emaciated’ she had ever seen.
The severely-neglected two-year-old cob, called Texas, was so weak when he collapsed in a horse box while being taken for treatment.
He was rushed to Leahurst Equine Hospital in Liverpool for emergency treatment but by the second day his condition had deteriorated so badly he had to be put to sleep.
