This jackdaw bird with a ‘fetish’ for tweezers managed to swallow a pair the length of its entire digestive system.
In a series of X-rays, veterinarians were shocked to discover the metal tongs lodged in its body with the sharp end pierced through its neck.
The small bird was rushed to the RSPCA Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre in Cheshire where it underwent a painstaking one-hour operation to remove the object through its stomach.
