A pet owner has been jailed after he did nothing to help his dog when a housemate allegedly poured hot oil on her.
Philip John Sharpe, 59, claimed his 12-year-old terrier, Roxy, had been hurt by his bullying housemate who told him she had been bitten by another dog.
