Footage of a dog has being dragged down a road by a woman driving a mobility scooter has caused outrage online.
The clip, shared widely on social media, has been described as ‘very shocking’ by the RSPCA.
Others have called on the police to intervene and rehome the dog.
In the clip, the animal can be seen being pulled down a road in the Erdington area of Birmingham.
Unable to stand due to the speed of the mobility scooter its lead is attached to, the dog is painfully dragged across the concrete.
Someone filming the encounter from a nearby car can be heard shouting: ‘You are hurting your dog. The dog’s going to die. You are hitting the kerb.’
The woman driving the mobility scooter can be seen looking at the camera.
She then turns away, while muttering something inaudible, and carries on up the road.
The clip has caused widespread anger after being shared by the Birmz Is Grime blog on Twitter with the caption: ‘Who is this person? This dog needs to be found and rescued’.
One person commented: ‘Has this been reported. It’s horrific.’
Another wrote: ‘Poor dog. I hope they find the lady driving and take the dog off her.’
The RSPCA has been contacted regarding the video and confirmed officers are investigating.

‘It has been brought to our attention and is now being looked into by our experienced officers. Anyone with any first-hand information about the incident should call our emergency line on 0300 1234 999.’
