The dogs were kept on short chains (Picture: ITV)

A charity has uncovered awful conditions at a Welsh dog breeding farm.

The dogs were found to have been kept on short chains in their own waste.

Some were left with no access to water.

Puppy Love Campaign filmed the awful moment dogs appeared to be gnawing on a partially eaten dead calf.

The charity discovered that the West Wales dog breeder also kept puppies separated from their mother – penning them in a metal box.

A spokesman for the charity that filmed this distressing footage said of the farm: ‘We saw dogs, about 30 dogs, in filthy pens.

‘The smell and the taste of the ammonia was terrible.’

The charity had reported the breeder to the RSPCA two years ago. A recent visit revealed that… Read the full story

An elderly couple told yesterday (Thurs) how they were held captive in their home for two hours ñ by a crazed FOX (PICTURED). See NTI story NTIFOX. The deranged animal patrolled the front porch of pensioners Muriel and John Porteous, both 77, leaving them too scared to leave their house. When great-grandmother Muriel attempted to leave their home in Worcester to go to the local shop the fox tried to bite her legs. Eventually her husband John called 999 and was later put in contact with the RSPCA who took two hours to capture the snarling animal on Tuesday (5/8).

The German Shepherd was spotted by members of the public at 12.35pm on Saturday who called police and the RSPCA when they saw there were no open windows – as the temperature soared to more than 30C.

After finding the owner, the car was opened and passers-by poured water on the dog as they waited for RSPCA workers to arrive.

Rick Byrne, right, his wife Samantha pose for a portrait at their home in Tring, England, Saturday, 8 August 2014. The family is unhappy about how their ageing cat Claude was seized by the RSPCA(Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) because he was too scruffy. He didn't like people grooming him. The RSPCA inspector tricked them into thinking she was taking him to the family's vet to check their explanation but then rang one hour later to inform them that the RSPCA vet said he was to be put down. They were then coerced into agreeing and not allowed even to let their children see him before he was put down. Later the charity issued proceedings against them for cruelty. Tiger spent four hours with his feet off the floor and unable to move (Picture: SWNS)

A tabby cat is down to eight lives after it managed to trapped itself so tightly between two buildings that it was suspended off the floor and unable to move to four hours.

Two-year-old Tiger wedged itself so tight that it was unable to wriggle free from the a tiny gap between Cornwall’s Lusty Glaze Beach Cafe and the building behind it.

And after exhausting all other methods to free the feline, baffled firefighters were eventually left with no choice but to make a hole in the cafe’s wall to get him out.

The cat was described as being ‘in a terrible state’ (Picture: RSPCA)

A seriously-ill kitten has been found dumped in a shoebox on a south London street.

The tiny white cat, thought to be around 12 to 16 weeks old, was discovered last Friday in a ‘terrible state’ by a Nike shoebox in Southview Road, Bromley.

The kitten had managed to get out of the box and hide behind the wheel of a parked car, where it was found.

RSPCA Inspector Nick Wheelhouse said ‘callous’ was the only word he could use to describe the abandonment of the tiny cat.

‘This poor little think had been just left to suffer in the most heartless way. His prolapse was so bad he could barely walk and he was in a terrible… Read the full story

‘There were no signs of its parents looking for him.’

The sea-dwelling mammal is expected to stay at the centre for ‘some months’ before being released into the wild.

CCTV captures thug viciously kicking a dog in the face

Warning: This video contains scenes of animal cruelty, which some viewers might find distressing

Footage of a man repeatedly kicking his dog in the face has been released by the RSPCA.

The thug can be seen bringing his foot down on the dog’s face at least two times before aggressively grabbing his mouth because he wouldn’t walk.

He then stormed off, dragging the dog violently by it’s collar.

People who live on the street in Bolton where the incident took place heard the animal’s cries one afternoon in November, and then checked their security cameras to see the horrific assault carried out on the dog.

The RSPCA believe the dog to be either a mastiff or boxer-cross.

A 32-year-old woman who saw the grim scene said: ‘It’s awful. As I approached, I couldn’t tell what it was, but I couldn’t believe it when I realised it was a rabbit.

‘Whoever even thought to do this must be sick.

‘There’s no way of telling how it died, but whatever happened to it, it’s undignified way for an animal to end its days.’

Those ‘dogs reacting to lemons’ videos could actually be killing them

Dog owners have been uploading videos of their pets’ bizarre reactions after tasting lemons and limes.

Hundreds of thousands of YouTube users have watched the ‘cute’ and ‘hilarious’ videos – which first emerged in 2013 but have been growing in popularity – in which dogs will taste some lemon or lime and then jump up and down, thrash about or back away from the fruit.

But animal rights groups have said that the dogs’ strange reactions might be because citrus fruits contain chemicals that are poisonous to them – and owners are putting their pets at risk.

‘People may think that the dogs’ reactions in these videos are cute – but the reality is very different,’ said an RSPCA spokesperson.

Man ‘kicked an owl’s butt’ while riding a paraglider

A minor TV celebrity in America has pleaded guilty to harassing an owl, after filming a video in which he boasted of having ‘kicked an owl’s butt’.

In the video, which was filmed in 2011, Dell Schanze can be seen chasing down and kicking an owl while paragliding, before boasting about the cruel act.

After following the animal for nearly 7 minutes on his powered paraglider, he is heard to shout ‘Who’s the predator? HOO-rah! I kicked an owl’s butt!’

But on Friday, Schanze pleaded guilty to using an aircraft to harass wildlife and pursuing a migratory bird, despite having told reporters to ‘tell the truth ‘cause the liar will be thrust down to hell’, only a day before.

STIAN_FAKE SNAKE_IMAGE001 COPS had a stand off with a snake for almost an hour before realising it was a GARDEN ORNAMENT. Officers were called to an address in Sutton, south east London, on Friday (June 12) just after 6.30am after a passer-by phoned the RSPCA saying a snake was 'on the loose'. The RSPCA passed the call onto cops, and a patrol car raced to the scene. After arriving at around 6.45am, officers stood and watched the reptile, but 'kept their distance' from the 'venomous adder', which was 'lying very still on a patio' at a block of flats. It wasn't until around an hour later that cops were told by a local resident that the 'snake' was in fact a garden ornament. STIAN ALEXANDER 07528 679198
